RELEASING – What is your body trying to tell you?

There are times in our lives when we think we’ve lost the plot. We become ultra-sensitive to any situation and find that our emotions are on over-drive. What is happening is that when we find ourselves in certain situations, a person, or group of people, or a particular set of circumstance, push a button, or combination of buttons, which bring to the surface, or re-awaken, dormant memories.

This memory, for whatever reason, and from any period in our life-time (or maybe past life time), was so uncomfortable, or even painful, that we sub-consciously chose to bury it, to suppress it. This means that it hasn’t been removed, simply put on hold, until we’re ready, or the timing is right, for it to re-surface. This may be really difficult for us to understand, especially when we ‘consciously’ are not aware of the way in which the body works.

The only reason that this type of memory would again be brought to our attention is so that it can be released. We have milder versions of this happening constantly throughout our daily lives – an unbidden memory, or thought, flits through our mind during the day. We then forget it, we may even spend a few moments pondering “Ah, remember when…. I’m glad that’s over…” Sub-consciously, our mental process is doing its’ job and releasing thoughts attached to memories, and if they’re harmless enough that will be the end of it. Problems arise when we do not realise that the situations we are in are simply reflecting our inner turmoil, due to the re-surfacing of painful memories.

There has been lots of attention, in recent years, through the outstanding work of authors like Louise Hay and Wayne Dyer, Abraham-Hicks etc., bringing to our attention the power of positive thinking, intention and affirmations. These are all tools to help us ‘feel’ better about ourselves and our current situation. This work has been pioneered for the very same reason that I am drawn to write about. Our physical bodies want to be in a state of ‘well-being’. In order to find a way to achieve this, the body is constantly striving to bring about a state of ‘inner balance’.

You will find that when you feel centred and in harmony, on an inner level, the outer circumstances of your life will have little or no effect on you. You remain positive all, or most of, the time. There are times, though, that each of us go on a downward spiral, when nothing we do seems to be able to drag us out of the pit that we find ourselves in. We literally feel heavier, uncomfortable, sad, depressed, etc.

These are all symptoms of being out of harmony with our inner state of equilibrium. The body is, in fact, sending us messages, telling us that it is not happy with its’ present circumstances. It wants to be returned to a state of balance. In order to achieve this it needs to release the thought pattern, or belief, held in its’ cellular memory that is already surfacing, ready to be released – to be let go of for good.

So, what do we usually do when we feel ‘out of ease’ and un-comfortable? We try our best to push those feelings right back down again! A great way of doing this is reaching for the pain-killers or anti-depressants. I am in no way criticising either. I have been down both roads on numerous occasions before coming to an understanding of what is happening in my body.

It’s time to listen to your body’s language. It is crying out for you to release the memories that eventually manifest as physical pain or illnesses if they are suppressed often enough. This is usually the last resort. When the body finds itself in this state, it has been unsuccessfully attempting to communicate with you for some time. It may begin with a twinge and end up as a full-blown illness or dis-ease.

Let me give you an example: you may be feeling tired and find you are unable to sleep because your mind is replaying scenarios of recent situations that you have found yourself in. You don’t realise that these are thoughts fighting to be released, so you spend many nights battling with them, and get even more tired and start to become irritable. You feel stressed. You are unable to function at optimum capacity in either your home or work life. You may even feel that others are getting at you. They are simply reacting to you inner turmoil. They have done their job of pus

hing the buttons that activated the process of releasing the memory that is ready to be released … This is all well and good, you may say, but what do you do with it now? f it’s causing you pain, you may need help in allowing it a free route out of your body, mind or emotions. Findhorn Flower Essences are a really gentle and subtle way of helping you to release stored memories to achieve an optimum sense of inner balance. It may be that you need to see a practitioner who can help you, or maybe you have a friend who is willing to listen.

Your body is giving you clues as to the type of issue that needs releasing. For example, if your emotions are all over the place, it could be related to a ‘heart’ pattern. Let me explain … According to Eastern traditions, the body is divided into 7 major areas. At the centre of each area is a ‘chakra’ or energy vortex that governs that part of the body. It is said that if a chakra is functioning correctly and freely – not over, or under-energised – we will feel balanced, calm, and full of vitality.

When the ‘heart chakra’ is out of balance we will notice that we are having difficulty ‘relating’ to certain individuals. We feel almost as if we are being victimised by people or circumstances. We may feel under-valued. Our self-worth may be at a really low point. We may feel unloved, unnecessary even. This can also impact on the chakras at either side of the one that is out of balance. On one side of the heart chakra we have the solar plexus which governs our personal power, and on the other we have the throat chakra which impacts our ability to express or communicate the way we are feeling. When someone does offer to listen our emotions may be so out of kilter that we can do nothing but cry. This is actually very good, as your body is expressing its’ emotions in the only way it presently feels able to do so. It’s releasing pent up feelings and emotions and is a very good place to begin.

If you would like a consultation to help you to release these supressed feelings and emotions I would begin by taking a history of your well-being and recommend a bespoke blend of essences. Although, if you feel you do not wish to unburden yourself to a practitioner I have had numerous successes with a combination of the following which you can order from me directly without a consultation:

  • Ancient Yew helps to cut emotional ties that bind you (to people, places, situations, etc.)
  • Birch helps to free you from restrictions and understand the causes of your life’s circumstances
  • Broom helps you to focus, stimulating clear communication and expression
  • Cherry helps to release you from karmic patterns, judgments and guilt (either yours or others) allowing you to take life more lightly
  • Garden Pea lifts depression associated with stifled creativity enabling you to begin new endeavours from a place of joy
  • Ragged Robin(essence of the month for March) brings a cathartic release from deeply suppressed emotions and toxic thoughts
  • Scottish Primrose restores your natural rhythms and promotes an inner state of harmony

So, if you find yourself being a blubbering wreck, then give yourself a pat on the back because you are on the road to recovery. Your body is beginning to release whatever it has had enough of repressing. Reach for this combination for support during your process.
